Q: Is it possible to get a years subscription with no octopus?Asked by Carolyn A., December 2020
Thanks for your question! It's difficult to customize the boxes each month as we're just a small team of 2. We do try to include 2-3 nice tins each month. Octopus is not something we ship often and is usually considered a bonus tin. That said, if we do have a box throughout the year that includes octopus, we can try our best to find a substitute for you. If we ship an octopus tin by mistake, just let us know, and we'll include an extra bonus tin the next month for you. Thanks again for your support!

Yes! We include a few specialty condiments like tiny jars of mayo and/or tabasco, seasoning packets and some crackers. Each box comes with a letter where we recommend a few recipes and different ways to enjoy these delicious tins.
Q: is there only tuna in the cans? or is there sometimes other things like octopus? because i eat only kosher Asked by Natan O., May 2022
Hi! Thanks for your question. We usually ship a variety of tinned fish, but mostly mackerel, sardines, salmon, cod liver, specialty tuna, etc. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to offer a kosher-only subscription.

I signed up for the Tinned Fish Club for myself but little did I know that it would also hook my young sons (age 4, 6 and 8) and even my baby daughter.
We've had a great time trying all sorts of canned seafood we'd never otherwise experience. The preparation suggestions and condiments included in each box add to the fun.
The boys are now huge fans of Russian sprats, basically in any preparation. Other favorites include:
* The Latvian salmon. Amazing.
* Sardines in any kind of oil, but especially the spicier ones, like the Porthos.
* All of the pates and spreads have been excellent.
Cod liver was a bit challenging but better than I expected, and my daughter absolutely loved it.
This is a very creative business, and I look forward to each month's box!

My wife gave me a subscription to this club and it has been great! If you're a fan of tinned fish (you know who you are), this club is for you. Every month you receive three different tinned fish along with accompanying ingredients and notes with serving suggestions. The selections are nicely curated and varied (Moroccan sardines, sprats pate, saury). The founders of the club are very responsive and immediately fixed a slight problem I had.

Jake's an adventurous eater and seafood lover who wants to make salads, breads, and pastas with his tinned fish. We packed up some delicious broiled Saury from Japan, Sardines from Morocco, and Sprats from Latvia along with a few cool new recipes to try
September Box
In our first box, we included three different tins. The seasoned and broiled Saury from Japan is delicious on its own. This one you can eat without any additions or drain and add a little ponzu sauce. Next up are Turkish Spicy Sardines. We suggested making a “tuna” melt sandwich and included a special recipe. Last, the Smoked Sprats Pate from Latvia is a versatile spread that can be seasoned based on your preferences and enjoyed on a fancy cracker.

Our December subscribers are in for a treat this month! We're shipping out Nuri Sardines in tomato sauce, Squid in a Ravigote sauce and a special Mackerel Pate! We've come up with a couple excellent recipes to try as well. (Please note, this box is for current members. Welcome boxes are unique!)

In February we were able to get our hands on two Sardine tins from the southern Mediterranean Sea and a delicious tuna belly from the Pacific Northwest. The Sardines in tomato sauce over rice recipe was a personal favorite with the Tuna Belly Caesar wrap as a close second.
